What is the significance of the Torah in the life of a follower of Yeshua?

Many dismiss the Pentateuch as irrelevant Law with no understanding of how its revelations underlie everything that we call grace in the B’rit Chadasha. Others are concerned that Messianic Jews who have begun their faith journey in Yeshua’s freedom will surrender to legalism.

During our summer request series, the question was asked, “Why did God give us the Torah?” As we explore these issues we must confront centuries of Christian culture layered with anti-Semitism and misunderstanding. The question demands a much more comprehensive answer than we could give here—but this is an introduction to issues that are central to Messianic Judaism today.
